Eddie Condon: Renaissance Man of Jazz

Eddie Condon was one of the true greats, a renaissance man of jazz—guitarist, bandleader, nightclub owner, and a first-rate wit—a fast-talking, wisecracking Midwesterner. He won the Down Beat poll for “Best Jazz Guitar” in 1943 and ’44. Only 67 when he passed away, he left quite a legacy.
